Is Roland D-50 appropriate for this wiki?
Hi. I just read what you wrote in Help:Creating Articles. Now I'm iffy if Roland D-50 would be an appropriate synth for this wiki? Roland D-50 is on the monotimbral side (like, no independent voices), but it still falls under ROMpler because of the ROM's samples, and the release era was close to Korg M1, too. ::as the MelonadeM, i am not the admin™. the main reason for the guideline is i do want to avoid people starting to create articles on things like idk, the prophet-5, or a modern example the asm hydrasynth.. i think these are well-documented elsewhere, and are outside of the scope of both the wiki and our community (i think very few people would actually own either - this might be a good guideline, how likely are people to own or want to own such a thing). the d50 is valid for the wiki in my opinion as it would ultimately serve as a precursor to the jv, jd, xv and future synth models that Roland would make, and it also would end up in a direct derivative in the form of LA32 aka the MT32 and CM32L and D110 and so on. i think importantly though the help page is a guideline and not a hard rule book, i am thinking to revise it to make this more clear really but i hope this answers that at least MelonadeM (talk) 21:17, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- articles for the sc-88, sc-88 pro, sc-8850, yamaha mu128

- clean up the sc-55 article. include more sc55 and mk2 information. perhaps add related links to the sc-7 (or perhaps add the sc-7 into the sc-55 article as a general rspcm sound canvas article)

As the admin™, I am not MelonadeM, but if it's a ROMpler controlled by MIDI made in the 1980's or 1990's, I can tell you it's very unlikely it wouldn't be in scope for this wiki. hikari_no_yume (talk) 14:02, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
