C/M mode ("Computer Music" mode[1]) is a feature on some Yamaha XG devices that provides unofficial Roland CM-64 (Roland CM-32L/Roland MT-32 and Roland CM-32P) compatibility.

Like the TG300B mode, Yamaha's manuals avoid outright stating what device the mode is intended to be compatible with, only stating that it "provides compatibility with most computer music software not supported by the [Yamaha XG and TG300B] modes".[2]

Yamaha do not document what CM-64 features are supported beyond the list of patches.

There is no equivalent mode for Roland GS devices, but many of them include CM-64 compatibility banks accessible with a Bank Select, and these are also by Yamaha's TG300B mode.
