Presumed spambot users?

Hi, I remember seeing you ban some users for presumably being spambots, when I saw recent changes weeks ago. How can you tell that they're spambots? Is there an anomaly in their IP or are you assuming by their usernames? FlashyRom (talk) 00:47, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

The permissions are currently set up so that a newly created account can't make edits until it is manually added to the confirmed group by an administrator (currently just me), and there is a notice of this on the signup page. So, if someone creates an account and doesn't follow the confirmation process noted very clearly on the signup page, it's fairly likely they are a spambot, but they won't be able to do anything useful with the account.

By the way: I manually confirmed your account after introducing this system, because I guessed you were a real human, but I have no idea who you are! hikari_no_yume (talk) 20:38, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
