The Roland-ED SC-D70 is a Roland GS and General MIDI 2 sound module in the Sound Canvas series. It is essentially a variant of the Roland-ED SC-8820 that adds more panel controls, digital audio outputs, and USB audio interface (stereo 24-bit 48kHz) capabilities. The USB audio features allow capturing one of the audio inputs, the MIDI synthesis engine output, or both at the same time (mixed together); a separate audio interface is not necessary for recording the output of the SC-D70 with a computer. Unlike the SC-8820, it does not feature Serial MIDI, only USB and MIDI DIN.
